National Stereotypes

I think national stereotypes are harder to find in our days. Let’s take the example “ Norwegians are born with ski’s on their feet” If you go skiing today you will find less people outside today than you did 50 years back ago. I saw on the TV on Monday. It was someone that had done a research looking for how many teenagers who were out skiing. They set out a camera filming the same place and I took over 1 hour before the first teenager passed it. I thought it was pretty weird since the weather was so nice, but I think the reason for this is that we have computers. If we go 50 years back in time almost every teenager were out skiing if the weather was nice. So a lot have changed in time. Another example is that we think the a typical American is often “fat” and “lazy”. Well a lot of the people in America is really fat, but there are some people that look just as we “Normal” people do to. In some countries a national stereotype can be possible, but in Norway I think it’s harder to find it today than 50 years back.

Of mice and men

Today my class were at the theathre watching the play " Of mice and men"
We saw the movie in english class a week earlier so I had some pictures of what the characters would look like, the area around and I recognized many of the lines.
The play was pretty good and funny. The actors did a great job playing their role, especially the one that played Lennie. I think playin that role need to have some skills.
It was wierd hearing it in norwegian tho, with norwegian dialect etc.
But allthough the play was great.
